Mehmet Günes
Chairman
I was born in 1983 in Cochabamba, Bolivia. After finishing high school, I started University in my country. After two years of study, I transferred to Tilburg University to the International Business Bachelor Program. This has been a great step in my life, and I have been constantly in search of meeting new people, from different nationalities. This is why I have decided to join Pirî Network. It is a big challenge to cooperate with the integration of International and Dutch students, organizing career-related activities for their personal and professional development.

“When we least expect it, life sets us a challenge to test our courage and willingness to change; at such a moment, there is no point in pretending that nothing has happened or in saying that we are not ready. The challenge will not wait. Life does not look back. A week is more than enough time for us to decide whether or not to accept our destiny.”

My name is Tural Huseynov and I am from Baku, Azerbaijan. Before coming to the Netherlands I spent almost half of my life in Ankara, Turkey. I have been living in the Netherlands for the past two and half years. Currently I am a Doctoral candidate at the Department of Econometrics and Operations Research, Faculty of Economics and Business Administration, Tilburg University. Besides doing my research and teaching I find it enriching to be a part of student community, especially international students (being an international student myself). Currently, I am the treasurer for Pirî Network 2009-2010. The main objective of Pirî Network is to provide a well balanced atmosphere between social and career oriented activities. I firmly believe that an active participation in Pirî Network would be an educational and a gratifying experience for every student."
Hakan Sögütoglu
Coordinator
On the first of October 1989, I was born in the Catharina Hospital in Eindhoven. My parents gave me the name of my grandfather, who died 6 months before my birth, Mehmet. Currently I´m studying Administrative Law & Public Administration (Bestuurskunde) at Tilburg University. I joined Pirî Network, because of the opportunities for self-development it offers. I´m very active and motivated in the student sector and have enjoyed being a board member of this association from the beginning. Needless to say, I’m striving for an excellent Pirî Network.
What makes Pirî Network different from other associations is that it seriously contributes to the development of students. It has a good balance between fun related and career related events. We are offering students a lot of workshops of well- known organizations and bring them in contact with traineeships, internships and vacant posts. Also, each month there is a fun related (social) event with which we hope that the members get to know each other and spend great time together.
I liked the idea of the previous board to put a quote under your text, but I will create my own one:

“People make choices, but call it destiny.”

Co-Chairman
My name is Audrey Weismann, 24 years old and I am currently finishing the last semester of my Master International Business Law. This academic year I am the Secretary of Pirî Network and will provide for all administrative tasks as well as some communication within the board. I have always been interested in multicultural environments and this international student association is a great supplement on my study and personal development. During my board year I will give it all to provide our members career oriented activities that are of great value for students that are seeking for high quality business workshops, internships and in house days so they will be well prepared for the international labor market. Furthermore, to maintain a pleasant atmosphere among the board and the members we will organize social activities to, so our members get to know us and each other in an informal environment. I truly believe that Pirî Network is the association every serious student should join, we are going to make this a fantastic year!

My name is Hakan Sogutoglu, I am 21 years young, I'm born in Eindhoven on the 1st of june, 1988. I still live in Eindhoven, because I like the city. My father is Turkish and my mother is half Dutch and half German. I am studying organisation studies and this is my fourth year. I hope to finish my bachelor this year, so I can start with the master organisation studies next year. I never joined a student association, untill Piri Network came on my way. I liked the members of Piri and I liked the people in the board. I also wanted to do something next to my study, because I don't have many courses this year. That is why I decided to become a boardmember of Piri Network. I like the function of coordinator, because you get to know many members then. I try to stay in contact as much as possible with our members, for example by sending them e-mails about activities, by putting pictures on facebook, by opening events on facebook, by arranging meetings with our members and so on, and so forth... Setting up the commissions was also very challenging for me, because I never did something like that before. I had to come up with some commissions and I had to find members who wanted to join the commissions. Everything is working out very well now, that's nice to see after the effort everyone put in it. But I think I couldn't have done this without the help of the other board members, they were always willing to help me when it was necessary. My motto is: Don't be stressfull about things that went wrong, use the knowledge for future actions and don't look back to your mistakes.
